Sports are the second worst thing to ever happen to this planet. I have not been sucked into that shit; rather, I have been repelled as far as possible. I've been brought up to root for the Red Sox (and against the Yankees), and that's about as far as I care. Otherwise, too much exposure to anything sports-related can make me vomit.

There's nothing wrong with sports, there problem lies in peoples insane zealous worship of it. Same thing as with celebrity worship, It's just fucked up fans making things and people out to be far far more important than they are.

You know all those people out there who are working on research and medicine and other stuff to make the world a better place? I think it's absolutely pathetic that the people who actually do meaningful work get paid a mere fraction of what celebrities and athletes do. Some of 'em get the celebrities' pocket change, relatively speaking. That makes me angry.

No one does meaningful work, even If some of those researchers are actually in it for something other than glory or wealth ... which they're not ... but lets say there are a few ... the best they're doing by curing disease is ensuring that the overpopulation pandemic persists at its soul crushing rate. No human being is doing anything to make the world a better place. No one does meaningful work, no one deserves to be celebrated.

You have a point there. I forgot about the overpopulation issue...things like poverty and war are probably the population's subconscious way of trying to keep its numbers under control. Personally, I'd say if someone were to work on making something that could blow up the entire planet, that would be worth the effort. You know how I said sports are the second worst thing to happen around here? Well, people are the worst. So I guess even if nothing else is meaningful...an endeavor like that would be. A quick, painless way to get rid of all the screwing up we did.
I need to make sure not to babble on about this in front of anyone who might be able to take me and lock me up in some sort of jail for the potentially dangerously sadistically insane. Or a jail for people who use too many adverbs in a row...
