I can recognize hallucinogens with remarkable accuracy. Those hallucinations are wrong for that type of mushroom, by the way.

Yeah, those mushrooms don't do anything unless you're a portly Italian plumber.

Actually, "Smurf house" mushrooms of the Amanita family produce vivid colors and sounds, but not recognizable creatures.

I was always under the impression that most mushrooms in the Amanita family other than Amanita Muscaria are pretty dangerous to eat.

All right, so I didn't get 100% on the last exam, but I can make up for it in 8 days.

Amanita Muscaria are the red mushrooms with white dots that are deply rooted in many cultures because they often cause a trip that has some sort of "divine" effect, such as meeting god/feeling one with god, or something like that. They're arguably the most popular hallucinagenic mushroom throughout history, and their collection and use by shamans and their tribes in siberia at winter solstice inspired many of current day christmas's traditions... as you can learn if you google some combination of the words: "santa, shaman, mushroom, tradition, reindeer, admantia, christmas etc." and just like many christian traditions it has roots in NORSE mythology.

In order to have a good time wealthy Siberian tribesmen would hire other (not-so-wealthy) tribesmen to collect them. After a night of feasting, drinking, and tripping, the revelers would step outside the tent to urinate.
The active ingredient in Amanita muscaria is inert and passes through the body unchanged. Because of this, the people hired to collect the mushrooms in the first place would also collect the revelers' urine and drink it to share in the experience.
That usually doesn't happen at Christmas.
